”It was a very pleasant and sunny winter's Melbourne Day that greeted all players with the Temperature reaching 19C yesterday (Wednesday 3, September) for the Salvo Hawks v’s Gippsland Panthers for the Grand Final at Frankston Football Club (VFL Kinetic Stadium).”
Two Top Quality Field Umpires with senior experience controlled the game giving each player a chance to perform to their skill level with particular importance with involving the not so skilled, and the Female players.
The ground was in excellent condition with a breeze to the Car Park end straight off the Bay. The game was commentated by Legend Smokey Dawson (ABC), assisted by Dermie Brereton (Hawthorn /Collingwood) and Mathew Larkin (North Melbourne)

Gippsland kicking with the breeze got away to a great start in the 1st Quarter with domination from the Centre.

Salvo Hawks held Gippsland goalless but did not do enough damage on the scoreboard.

The 3rd Quarter with Gippsland scoring 3 Goals set up a convincing lead but Football is an interesting game.

After a coaching plea for commitment the Salvo Hawks with the wind, flew home, kicking to the Car Park end outscored Gippsland scoring 4 Goals to Gippsland scoreless.
1 Point win to Gippsland though Football was the winner.
Best player for Salvo Hawks -Number 45 -Dominated off the half back line for the entire game.
