Assoc. Prof. James Leong
Life Saving Surgery

 

James Leong is a medical graduate from the University of Melbourne and he has successfully completed the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship examination in 2002. 

He also has a Master of Surgery from the University of Melbourne where research was undertaken in the field of ischeamia reperfusion injury in skeletal muscle. He was a microsurgery fellow and research fellow at the Bernard O'Brien Institute of Microsurgery, St Vincents Hospital. 

He is currently appointed as an Associate Professor at the Department of Surgery at Monash University. He holds consultant positions at Monash Health, Alfred Hospital, The Valley Private and Corymbia House Day Surgery.

He is trained in all areas of Plastic surgery including facial reconstruction, hand surgery, microsurgery, skin cancer surgery and cleft lip and palate surgery.

He is an avid supporter of Interplast Australia and has been on multiple voluntary medical missions overseas. He is a keen skier, tennis player and loves fishing.
