Young Achiever, Neuro-Scientist, Bio-ethics Fellow...and Grandson of Vic Burns!
Tom is studying a PhD in neuroscience at Monash University where he hopes to help uncover the mysteries of the brain using novel computing and mathematical techniques. He has been a Bioethics Fellow at the World Health Organization in Geneva, volunteered as a tutor and mentor for high school and university students, and is this year's president of the Students of Brain Research Network in Victoria.

Earlier this year, Tom was presented the Young Achiever's Award by the Rotary Club of Melbourne for his medical research and community service.

He is also a grandson of Victor Burns, Rotary Club of Hawthorn President in 1980-81 and a Paul Harris Fellow. Tom is excited to meet more Rotarians when he visits the Club in May.
